I went to Florida for 10 days to visit with my Uncle Dan ( the creater of this site ) and my Uncle Gary on the west coast in St. Petersburg. We drove to the east coast of Florida to surf. We camped out the whole time we were there. Since I've bassicaly have never surfed a good size wave that is more than higher than your knees, I was new to all of this. After watching my Uncle Gary and Uncle Dan surf, by Monday the 14th, I was already standing up on the board and turn great. And that's pretty good since I got there on Friday the 11th. I surfed on a long board called the Yater which is 9 feet and 10 inches and the Natral Art which is I don't know how long it is. But I was surfing better on the Yater. We surfed at Cocoa Beach and the Second Light beach . And since I'm From Chesapeake, Virginia, there are hardley any waves in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We had a really great time surfing. My opinion on the best place to surf between Cocoa Beach, Second Light Beach, and Sebastian Inlet would have to be Second Light Beach. That place is the best. There are no swimmers or little kids and hardley any boogie boarders or spongers as my uncles would put it out there. There are only surfers there. I saw only one boogie boarder (sponger). And everything else I saw were great female surfers. Oh yeah, and I saw THONGS EVERYWHERE!!!!! So if your ever on the east coast of Florida goto the Second Light Beach for the best waves. And by the way, if you're going to camp out while you're down there, DON'T GO TO SEBASTION INLET STATE PARK AND CAMP OUT. Mainly because they "griped" at us and told us that we had to rent another campsite because they had a rule that only two tents per camp site and we had three and then the next night we saw some campers that had six tents up and the park rangers said nothing to anyone of them about it. And besides the bugs are really bad in that park. Thank You Uncle Dan and Uncle Gary for letting me stay with you guys.
