Friday the Thirteenth? No bad luck today; well maybe... It was the same as usual, I went to the beach today feeling prettier and more confident about myself. Sometime during the past week there was a hurricane somewhere and now the waves in San Diego are from 10-12 feet and it’s moving down (or up?) toward here. Boy the surf at Huntington today was at 5 feet! We’re going back tomorrow because it’s supposed to be bigger. Mickey had custom ordered a new surfboard at Wind and Sea Surf Shop in Huntington Beach. He picked it up today.
Mickey was telling me that if the Rapture comes and we are making out like we do, we would have been left here while everyone else went up to Heaven. I felt horrible that he was being so serious about this. I know that I don’t deserve Gods love but Mickey sure deserves it. Maybe I’m not good enough for him. I don’t know what to do now. I really like kissing him but he makes me feel so guilty about it now.

We went to the beach at Bolsa Chica on Saturday but the waves weren’t as big as they were on Friday. I didn’t mind. I got to use Mickey’s other surfboard he has a new one and they really old one Mickey gave back to the guy he borrowed it from. I couldn’t believe how neat it felt. It was easier to get up on that board than the old one. It’s a Chuck Dent Board and from what Mickey says, it’s out of date. If that ones out of date, than what was the other old one I was using.
I was out in the water and saw a bunch of El Monte surfer guys arrive. I saw Henry O’Malley and his brand new board. He went out with my sisters friend when they were in 7th grade. I used to invite them over to my swimming pool because I liked goofy Henry. He was crazy, he was so funny, everybody liked Henry. I was in 6th grade when they were in 7th. I don’t think he recognized me when he went surfing right next to me. I had to say “Hi it’s me!” and then he recognized me. He was surprised to see me surfing.
He is still going with my sister Elsie’s friend. (That friend I think she never liked me. Maybe she thought I had a crush on Henry) As we were leaving we found out that our meter had expired and there was a parking ticket on the windshield, boy was Mickey mad.
We drove to Huntington State Beach and met the whole church group there for a picnic. We had fun sitting around the fire eating hot dogs, potato chips, and toasting marshmallows while Brother Pierce was playing guitar and we all sang Christian songs. Mickey and his brother Jerry went night surfing by the pier. I never did that because it gets so cold at night and it’s hard to see. We got home by midnight.
