| I was in Cocoa Beach one day and went out behind the motel. Not much of a break, but usually rideable. The surf was about 2-3 ft and clean, so out I go. It was a Monday and I was the only one out and could not believe I had the whole break to myself, they were peeling off clean and building. After a few rides I paddled back out and then I saw a fin about 100 yds. off and moving my way. I caught the next one in, stood on the shore and watched. When it seemed it had gone on it's way back out I went. Again out of the corner of my eye, I spotted it again. Waiting for the next set to come, I tried to keep an eye out for it and lost track of where it was. Did it leave or was it just hiding? I started to paddle into position and the water around me started to boil with bait fish, now I knew it was somewhere below me. I knee rode the next foam ball in and watched from the shore again. It was still out there and didn't show any signs of leaving. I was evicted by a landlord on a nice small day with the whole place to my self! | |
